About This Site — The Book of Pook

Who Is Behind This Site?

My name is Victor Bloom. I have been a long-time member of the SoSuave forum, where I first encountered Pook's writing and followed his journey as a fellow community member. This site, thebookofpook.com, is managed by me, and everything here is preserved with deep respect for the man and the philosophy he left behind.

Pook never wanted to be a legend. He said so himself:

“The only reason why I'm here at Sosuave is to help myself. I have absolutely no interest in being an 'authority' or 'star poster' or anything of the such. When I do a post, I basically talk to myself.”

That humility is exactly why his words lasted.

Who Was Pook?

Pook was an anonymous writer who posted on the SoSuave discussion forum in the early 2000s. His real name was never publicly confirmed. His forum location simply read “Nirvana.” He wrote for 3 to 4 years, not to build an audience, but to document his own inner growth — post by post, lesson by lesson.

He never published The Book of Pook himself. His forum posts were later compiled into a book by those who recognized their lasting value. Pook had already moved on.

What He Taught

Pook's philosophy was not about tactics or techniques. It was about becoming:

  • Focus on yourself — not on women or outcomes
  • You are the problem, and therefore you are the solution
  • Rejection is better than regret
  • “In order to be successful in the world, you must be successful in your mind.”
  • “My entire life has been focusing on everything except me.”
  • The word, above all else, is ACTION

He was free of bitterness and free of misogyny — a rare voice in that era of the internet. He invited men to build a life worth living and let everything else follow naturally.

His Legacy

I watched Pook write in real time on SoSuave. Like many forum members who were there during those years, I saw a man thinking out loud — not performing, not selling, just working through life honestly in public. That authenticity is what made every post land differently from anything else on the internet at the time.

Thousands of men across the world found his words at the right moment in their lives. Forum members who read him in the early 2000s still quote him today. His ideas outlived his presence — which is exactly the kind of legacy a man like Pook would have quietly approved of.

Why This Site Exists

I built and manage thebookofpook.com to ensure that Pook's writing remains accessible, intact, and free from distortion. His words belong to every man who needs them. My role is simply to keep the light on.

Pook himself gave the best instruction on how to treat his legacy:

“Stop worrying about Pook and worry about yourselves.”

That is the spirit in which this site is offered to you.
