Who was Pook?
Pook was an anonymous writer on the SoSuave dating forum in the early 2000s, and later the author of the blog Pook’s Mill. His posts became The Book of Pook: the dating book on frame, standards and self-respect that men have handed to each other ever since.
Pook on SoSuave
In the early 2000s, Pook wrote on SoSuave with wit, allegory, and blunt honesty — not as a guru selling tactics, but as a man thinking out loud.
Some found him sharp. Others found him necessary. The through-line stayed the same: stop performing for attention, build standards, take action.
He never wanted a pedestal:
“The only reason why I’m here at SoSuave is to help myself. I have absolutely no interest in being an ‘authority’ or ‘star poster’ or anything of the sort. When I do a post, I basically talk to myself.”
That humility is part of why the words lasted.
About the Book
The Book of Pook is a compilation of those posts. Compiled and edited by Pook Media from Pook’s original forum posts and his later blog, Pook’s Mill. Pook’s words are unchanged. It is not a polished “pickup system.” It became a cult classic because it rebuilds identity and frame first.
Three volumes. One arc: stop chasing approval, keep your frame in longer dynamics, then master the long game. Volumes 2 and 3 add his later writing from Pook’s Mill.
What He Taught
Not techniques stacked on techniques. Becoming.
